Intake questions
Hello all, I am working with my academic advising staff. I would like to solicit any resources on intake questions to guide discussions for advising and coaching when meeting with a new student. Does anyone have anything to share?

I ask them to tell me what they would like to do with their nursing career. Some students have a firm idea whereas others are open to new ideas. I also ask if they have job shadowed and what did they like or dislike about that experience. Finding out if the student has dual credit class (which vary by state) helps me to help them make a plan to get through school. Also, find out if the student is working and how many hours a week. Set the expectation of how much time should be allocated to studying per credit hour. Good luck!
